Implementation Plan
Executive Data follows a strict implementation plan to
minimize interruption of your firm’s work routine, and to
ensure that staff receive the necessary training to start
using the new system quickly and effectively.
The Project Engineer
Each firm is assigned an Executive Data Customer Engineer
(CE), who is responsible for satisfying the firm’s needs.
Our Customer Engineers are seasoned experts, and certified in
one or more product lines, such as Novell NetWare, Microsoft
Applications, and WordPerfect. The CE takes responsibility for
managing all aspects of the installation, including site
wiring, pre-configuring the file server, data conversion,
installation of hardware and software, and training of your
staff.
Server Hardware Setup
File Servers and Communication Servers are setup; memory,
option boards and modems are installed; then the server is
burned-in and tested in Executive Data’s facility.
Network Server Configuration
Executive Data pre-configures the file server with Novell or
Windows NT, plus administration utilities and software
applications for system management, archival tape backup and
virus protection. Executive Data engineers establish database
directory structures and configure network security controls.
Attorney
Desktop
Server-based software applications, such as word processing,
document management, e-mail, etc. are set up prior to going
on-site.
Third Party
Third party applications include software not part of the
standard legal desktop. Applications such as courthouse filing
or legal research software, are loaded tested and integrated
with the network server and the user’s desktop.
Other
Installation Services:
Site Wiring:
Executive Data will perform any necessary site wiring for
network cabling, using a reliable, experienced subcontractor.
After completion, wiring is certified by Executive Data.
Servers:
Executive Data personnel arrive on-site and install the file
server and subsystems in a convenient location.
Workstations:
Once your staff has been trained, the old workstations will be
removed and new Executive Data PCs installed and configured to
each user’s needs.
Final Walk
Through: Executive Data staff will go through a check list
with key firm staff to ensure that all outstanding issues and
problems have been taken care off while the Customer Engineer
is still on-site, and get all necessary sign-offs.
